ST. LOUIS, November 3, 2008 -- St. Louis-based commercial real estate firm Pace Properties Inc. recently has added three national retailers to Central Plaza Shopping Center, a 180,000-square-foot community shopping center located at the corner of Manchester Road and New Ballwin Road in Ballwin, Missouri.
On August 30, Office Max opened a 20,000-square-foot office supply store, its 10th store in the St. Louis market. In November, Pet Supplies “Plus” will open its first Missouri location, an 8,050-square-foot store at Central Plaza. Additionally, next spring Central Plaza will welcome Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts’ first 30,000-square-foot “superstore” in Missouri. These retailers join an existing tenant roster which includes Borders Books, Walgreens, Bova Furniture, Hallmark Cards, Famous Footwear and Sauder Furniture.
“Adding these three quality retailers to our existing array of tenants should solidify Central Plaza as a primary shopping destination on the Manchester Road corridor for many years to come,” said Mark Sedgwick, Managing Director of Pace Properties.
OfficeMax is a leader in both business-to-business office products solutions and retail office products. The company provides office supplies and paper, in-store print and document services, technology products and solutions and furniture to consumers and to large, medium and small businesses. OfficeMax customers are served by approximately 32,000 associates through direct sales, catalogs, e-commerce and nearly 1,000 stores.
Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. is a leading national specialty retailer of crafting, decorating and sewing products. Its superstore is a “Create-It-Yourself” store that sells fashion and decorator fabrics, related notions, patterns, crafts, seasonal products and other merchandise.
Pet Supplies “Plus” was founded in 1988 by two veterans of the grocery industry who pioneered the concept of bringing supermarket-style retailing to the pet specialty industry. The company is the nation’s largest franchised pet supply retailer and third-largest pet specialty chain operation, with more than 215 stores in 21 states. Believing that pets and their owners prefer to shop at smaller stores rather than “big box” locations, Pet Supplies “Plus” limits the size of its stores to between 7,000 and 9,000 square feet in larger metropolitan areas.
